Awareness of ADHD and autism has grown enormously in recent years, but understanding the lived experience of neurodivergent people can still get lost amongst the labels, stereotypes and assumptions.
Lerryn was late diagnosed as both ADHD and autistic in her 40s – an experience that changed the way she understood herself and ultimately shaped much of the work she does today. Most recently, she brought that experience to the TEDx stage, combining her own story with her academic background and her professional experience as a neurodivergence coach.
Lerryn is passionate about creating a more honest and nuanced understanding of neurodivergence – beyond the stereotypes, sweeping generalisations and lists of symptoms. Her talks combine lived experience, accessible science, storytelling and humour to explore what ADHD and autism can actually look and feel like in everyday life.
Lerryn helps to bring a refreshingly grounded perspective – rooted in everyday, relatable experiences – to build understanding, challenge assumptions and help people feel seen.
